Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA), University of Narowal, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, ORIC UON, and Paigham-e-Pakistan, proudly hosted a Two-Day International Workshop titled: “Empowering Students Through Capability Building, Positive Behavioral Modification, and Rights Awareness.” The aim of this workshop was to contribute to students' holistic development by equipping them with essential life skills, ethical awareness, and an understanding of their rights and responsibilities as members of society and the academic community. The workshop was designed to address contemporary challenges faced by university students, particularly in relation to personal growth, positive conduct, emotional regulation, and informed citizenship. Through expert-led sessions, the workshop provided a structured platform for learning, reflection, and capacity building in a supportive academic environment.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Enhance students’ personal and professional capabilities by fostering self-awareness, resilience, and constructive behavioural practices.

  • Promote positive behavioural modification by encouraging ethical conduct, emotional intelligence, and respectful interpersonal interactions.

  • Create awareness among students regarding their rights, responsibilities, and institutional mechanisms, enabling them to become informed, confident, and responsible individuals.

The academic spirit of the day was elevated by an outstanding international session delivered by Dr. Justin Jones (Oxford University, UK), Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Munir (Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Fiqh and Law at the Islamic Research Institute [IRI], International Islamic University, Islamabad [IIU]), and Ms. Sabila Naseer (Office Incharge, Department of Psychology, University of Narowal). These scholars captivated the audience with their powerful discourse on empowerment, capability building, and stress management through religion. Their session sparked deep reflection, meaningful dialogue, and intellectual curiosity among students.
