Office of the Directorate of Academics is amongst the leading offices of the University of Narowal that falls under the Office of Vice Chancellor. The office develops and monitors the academic curricula and policies. It continuously reviews academic curricula for the quality academic programs through board of studies, board of faculty, industrial and market inputs, etc. It keeps the curricula in line with the international and national needs and practices through accreditation bodies. The objective of the office is to implement and ensure the highest academic standards for excellence in teaching and learning that are approved by the Academic Council and Board of Governors. It also anticipates emerging needs and prepares future forecasts including matters related to curricula, teaching methodologies, research activities and evaluation of teachers and students. Office of the Director Academics also organizes Faculty Development Programs in collaboration with Deans and Chair Departments and responds to queries by HEC or any other organization on relevant areas of academics. The Director Academics, as a secretary of the Academic Council of the University, addresses all issues relevant to the quality of learning, including allied infrastructure, labs and classrooms, in all Faculties in collaboration with Deans and Heads of the Departments.

To develop, review, and monitoring of all academic Programs at UON in line with international and national best practices and to ensure their effective implementations and accreditations.

Core Functions

  1. Curriculum development of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs
  2. Curriculum implementation of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs
  3. Establishment of new labs and upgradation and maintenance of existing labs
  4. Preparation of Academic Calendar
  5. Revision and updating of Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses
  6. Review of academic regulations and policies
  7. Monitoring of faculty workload
  8. Co-ordination with teaching departments for faculty hiring
  9. Scheduling of Academic Courses and Events
  10. Withdrawal from courses/semester/University
  11. Grading and grade changes
  12. Verifications as requested by Universities and Organizations
  13. Maintaining a system of student record
  14. Public Dealing on all Academic matters
