Additional Director Academics

The Office of the Directorate of Academics is a cornerstone administrative office operating directly under the Vice Chancellor. It is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating academic curricula and policies across all departments.

Through boards of studies, faculty boards, and direct market feedback, the Directorate ensures academic quality stays aligned with both national and international standards. The primary goal is to maintain excellence in teaching, learning, and research as set forth by the Academic Council and Board of Governors.

Serving as Secretary of the Academic Council, the Director Academics works collaboratively with Deans and Heads of Departments to address quality learning, facility infrastructure, faculty development, and external compliance with bodies like the HEC.

To develop the Academics Directorate into a dynamic academic management office that supports the highest standards in learning and research of international standing.

Mission

To develop, review, and monitor all academic programs at UON in line with international and national best practices and to ensure their effective implementation and accreditation.

Core Functions

  • Curriculum development and implementation for UG and PG programs
  • Establishment of new labs alongside upgrading and maintaining existing facilities
  • Preparation and tracking of the official Academic Calendar
  • Continuous revision and updating of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses
  • Comprehensive review of academic regulations and overall policies
  • Monitoring faculty workload and coordinating for faculty hiring
  • Scheduling academic courses, semester events, and managing course withdrawals
  • Overseeing grading procedures, grade changes, and academic verifications
  • Maintaining student record systems and providing public dealing on academic matters
